Today is the first day of holiday, of course to enjoy my day, I decided to play some games. Remember I said about playing Lunar Silver Star Harmony? Yep, I started playing it today. The other game which I started playing is Resident Evil 5. Impression follows
Impression: Lunar Silver Star Harmony
I always watch my brother play this game when I was young and always wish to play this game. Now I finally had a chance to play it on PSP, even better, a remake. Usually remake is uaully good or bad thing, however, Lunar PSP has done it right in almost every way. The game starts off by telling a story of the past and how it make this guy name Alex to found his dream and how he starts off his adventure.
The remake has updated graphic and soundtrack, which is a good thing. The graphic are updated for the better, I was looking through some old Lunar video, the old graphic are pure 2D. However, the new graphic are 3D map with 2D spirtes(I hope I am right) and it totally fits the game. In the pass, the music are in the form of midi where low quality music is being produce. But now, on the PSP, midi are no longer use and the music in better quality too to make it even better, they have re-done the music for the better too.
Another notable thing in the game was skill and magic animation. My friend have been praising that before I even got hold of that game. As I recall correctly from last time, the animation are shown the way it is shown on the PSP. So definitely the PSP win in this area. The thing right now I could wish for is definitely learning more magic and skill so I could see more of those. Really, the animation are very nice.
In conclusion, Lunar Silver Star Harmony is an awesome game, even more so when it is on a handheld device. Now I can bring this game anywhere I want and still be able to enjoy it. It is definitely one of the better PSP game I have play. I enjoy the game in almost every aspect, the graphic, the music and the character. I only play the game for two hours and I must admit, I enjoy the full two hours and I intent to play it again soon.
Impression: Resident Evil 5
Alot of people know that I totally hate horror film. But to your surprise, my favourite game of all time, is a horror game, Resident Evil 4(RE4). I have completed that game over 30 times, it is simply an awesome game. Now with the release of Resident Evil 5(RE5), it is a no brainer that I am going to try that game. So with a PS3 console at my house, I finally have the chance to play it. However, I only try the multiplayer mode and haven't got a chance to play the single player mode.
In multiplayer mode, the TV screen are split into and so it enable each player to play their respective character on the screen. My brother was playing Chris Redfield and I was playing Sheva Alomar. The game twist a little from RE4, in RE4 you are expecte to save a hostage and she won't fight. However in RE5, a character follow you like RE4 but this time they help you in fighting.
In the previous Resident Evil, it is actually survivor horror game. However in Resident Evil 4 and 5, it is action horror. But I do prefer action horror over survivor horror. Remember I said I finish more than 30 times of RE4? I thought RE5 would be smiliar, hence easier. My brother even started on the ameteur mode. GUESS WHAT? I died two times in less than an hour. My brother don't felt like playing the game too, so we just took a good save data and load it on the PS3. The game feel like a breeze now.
The graphic is just awesome in everyway, I mean, what do you expect from a PS3? The graphic are do detail in everyway, from the background to the enemies to the character. The environment is vast too, I have visit serveral area in the game already and I only in the first three chapter. The music in the game are pretty good too, as in they fit right into the mood.
In conclusion, RE5 is good, but not as good as RE4. I just don't find it as far as RE4, maybe because I am playing the multiplayer mode and not the single player mode. I should play the single player mode at least once. However, this does not mean that this game is bad, it is still an awesome game as one.
